Graduates of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program 
WELCOME!

Morton and Harris elected to Illinois Agricultural Leadership Alumni Board    

Macomb, IL –Tim Harris, Princeton, IL and Chet Boruff, Moline, IL were elected to serve on the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Alumni Board.  Harris was elected to serve as the IALA President and Boruff was elected at Vice President.  They will each serve a one-year term.

The Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation (IALF) is a statewide not-for-profit organization established to support a leadership development program for men and women in the agricultural industry.  Its mission is to develop knowledgeable and effective spokesperson to become policy and decision makers for the agricultural industry.  

Tim Harris, IALP ’00, currently the President of Key Builders Construction, Inc. located in Princeton, Illinois.  He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.  He is also a partner with his family’s 1000-acre grain farming operation. Tim received his AAS from Illinois Valley Community College in Agribusiness.  He is an Illinois Certified Crop Advisor, Illinois Real Estate Broker, and Accredited Farm Manager with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.  He serves as Trustee for Greenfield Retirement Home in Princeton, serves on the board of directors for the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic, and a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church where he served as church chair. Tim and his wife Judy and have a daughter, Jennifer, and a son, Aaron. 

Chester S. (Chet) Boruff serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies (AOSCA), starting in this position on November 1, 2004. Chet was raised on a diversified family farm in Rock Island, County, Illinois, and received an agricultural degree from Iowa State University.  He met and married his wife, Joy, while they were students at ISU.  They have two children, Scott and Amy.  During his career, Chet has worked in agricultural finance, sales, marketing, and for seven years served as the Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.  Throughout his career, he has operated a farming operation in his home area. He is a 1984 graduate of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program.

Officers of the IALA Board are: Tim Harris, President; Chet Boruff, Vice President; Jackie Kraft and Kim Morton, Northeast Directors; Tim Harris and Chet Boruff, Northwest Directors; Randy Grove and Randy Sims, Southwest Directors; Bruce Stikkers and Mary Christine Ludwig, Southeast Directors; and Matt Wiebers, Out-of-State Director.

 

 

 


The mission of the IALF is to develop knowledgeable and effective spokespersons to become policy and decision makers for the agricultural industry.
