Select Quotes: I found the Illinois Ag Leadership Program a very positive experience.  My businesses are more successful than when I first enrolled in the program but that is not the true purpose of the sponsor’s investment in me nor is profitability the reason I chose to participate.  Our rural/agricultural communities are in great need of people that can work with others to help improve our agricultural industry and the communities that we live in.  My participation in the program has allowed me to draw on a broad range of experiences that help me to better understand and address real problems.  My opinions seems to have a positive impact on all of the organizations that I have been privileged to serve.

Participation in the program also helped me to better manage an already busy schedule, communicate about issues with confidence, and to better appreciate and understand the diverse people and issues that are part of agriculture.  I was grateful to be a part of such a great program and will continue to develop the skills necessary to be a relevant part of the industry.

   ~ Jeff Abbey, ‘, 96, Producer & Pioneer HI-Bred Sales Representative

In my view, this experience created tremendous networking opportunities with some of the top Leaders in Illinois Agriculture!

   ~Gerald Salzman, ’92, CNH Corporation

Our office grew from 2.5 staff to 8.5 staff since 1991 and gross revenue tripled.  Our national organization named me their first executive director.
